A Prayer for our Branch
Heavenly Father, As members of this branch we commit its life to you; We seek your blessing in all we do, your presence in our fellowship, Your inspiration in our activities, And your strength in our service to the Church and to the community. Help us to be faithful in prayer and worship and outgoing in our witness to the gospel, That we may advance your kingdom, and glorify your name. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
The first meeting of the Mothers Union of the Autumn season will take place on Monday 10th September 2018 with Sister Karen Webb talking about her work for the Church Army. This is a change to our published programme as the date does not suit Hazel. She will be attending her daughters graduation that day. Hazel will however be able to tell us her story at our next meeting on Monday 8th October 2018.
Fund raising has continued over the summer period and over £100 has been raised by attending 2 Car Boot Sales. It is proposed to attend another sale in October but we would need donations of small items such as bric a brac, cosmetics, including gift sets and jewellery and would welcome any donations from parishioners. It is hoped that the Committee Room in the Church Hall will have received its makeover before the start of Sunday School in September. Various items of soft furnishings have been purchased and the colour scheme decided. It is proposed to have a short opening service in September and would welcome all parishioners to come along to see the finished article.
We are looking forward to welcoming our existing members back in September and would welcome new members to come along and join us for our talk and a bite of supper afterwards. Our meetings take place on the second Monday of each month and are publicised in the Link. Liz McBurney
