The Mothers Union started 2018 with a very informative presentation by Rosalind Bloomfield on the work worldwide of the Mother’s Union and how our annual membership fees are divided and allocated to various projects. Rosalind explained that evaluation was carried out to ensure that expenditure was spent in a productive way. Members expressed their thanks to Rosalind for explaining fully the worthwhile work that was undertaken by our organisation. > Our next meeting on 12 February was very productive as we managed to fill 92 wash-bags containing basic items, such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, tissues, comb and facecloth for patients admitted to hospital in an emergency situation. All items were donated and we thank all who were able to contribute. Our successful evening ‘s work was concluded with a special supper which all enjoyed. It is hoped to donate these bags in the near future which will be a photographic opportunity to publicise our charitable work. > March is a busy month for our organisation as our next meeting is on 12 March when we will welcome a representative from Tearfund to hear about their work. On Sunday11th March at the 10.45 Morning Prayer Service 3 of our members will be enrolled into the Mothers Union. Rosalind Bloomfield will provide an overview of the structure and work of the Mothers’ Union locally and worldwide. We are sure that the congregation will learn from this presentation which will hopefully encourage more people to join us at parish level. On 9 April we are looking forward to hearing Rev Derek Kerr tell us about his “Right Royal Obsession”. In May Mavis Gibbons will talk to us about her story.
